Policy-to-practice: Energy poverty interventions towards better health
This report compiles key recommendations for planning, implementing, and improving interventions to combat energy poverty, with a focus on health aspects. Drawing from the pilot experiences of the WELLBASED project, it focuses on four intervention types: (1) social energy audits, (2) distribution of an energy efficiency kit, (3) group training on energy and health, and (4) home retrofitting , aimed at people at risk of energy poverty. For each intervention, the report provides practical tips and guidance, including estimated costs and recommendations on how to integrate the health dimension to enhance impact.
Policy-to-practice: Assessing health impacts of interventions in low-income populations
This report highlights key lessons learned from assessing the health impact of interventions on socio-economically vulnerable populations. These insights are drawn from the research study conducted within the WELLBASED project, which included quantitative and qualitative analysis. We recommend incorporating these considerations into topic-related research projects, as well as in European research funding calls, including the identified research priorities.
Compiled version of Policy recommendations
The Policy recommendations cover several areas corresponding to the horizontal domains mentioned by the European Commission in its Recommendation to Member States to address Energy Poverty: governance, capacity building, monitoring to take action and funding.
